Fuel has always been one of the problems that troubles users of construction machinery. In addition to various filtration measures, the fuel tank also needs to be cleaned regularly to reduce the burden on the filtration system.
Here, I will share with you how to clean the fuel tank. Speaking of cleaning, the engine cooling system also needs to be cleaned, so I will also introduce it here.
1. Drain the fuel during cleaning, but be careful not to drain it completely and retain some fuel. Then pass the compressed air through the plastic pipe to the bottom of the fuel tank, allowing the diesel to continue churning to achieve cleaning.
During this process, the position and direction of the air pipe must be constantly changed to clean the entire fuel tank. Immediately after purging, drain the fuel tank to allow impurities suspended in the oil to flow out with the diesel.
If the outgoing diesel oil is dirty, it needs to be cleaned again using the above method until the released oil contains no impurities.
2. When cleaning, you need to drain all the diesel, remove the fuel tank, and then fill most of the tank with water. Introduce steam into the water from the filling port to boil the water in the tank, which takes about an hour.
At this time, the colloid and various impurities adhering to the inner wall of the box have been dissolved in the water or peeled off from the wall. The tank can be completely flushed in two consecutive steps.
3. Clean the fuel tank with hot water, then blow dry with compressed air, then put an aqueous solution containing 10% sodium hydroxide into the fuel tank to soak, and finally rinse the inside of the fuel tank with clean water.
