No additional measures are required for short-term storage, but cylinders stored for a long period of time (more than three months) need to be filled with 100% volume of hydraulic oil to ensure that the cleanliness of the medium meets the standards of NAS Class 8, the cylinders should be rotated periodically to prevent the seals from sticking, and the unprotected parts should be protected with a special anti-corrosion oil.
If the hydraulic cylinder has been stored for more than one year, or the actual storage conditions cannot meet the requirements, it is necessary to carry out availability verification before being put into use, including pressurization test to check for leakage and extend and retract movement test.
