On
February 3, a delegation led by Michael Goss, Co-CEO of global mining giant
Fortescue, visited XCMG Group. Both parties jointly witnessed the official
launch of two world-first pure electric mining equipment prototypes developed
through their collaboration, marking a substantive advancement in zero-emission
mining equipment cooperation.
The
two unveiled machines set multiple global records:
The
XCMG XC9260BEWL pure electric loader elevates the world's highest working load
capacity for pure electric loaders to 26 tons.
The
XCMG XC9260BEWD pure electric wheeled dozer breaks the global record for
maximum power output in pure electric wheeled dozers.
These
prototypes represent significant milestones under the parties' zero-emission
equipment supply agreement, poised to deliver efficient, zero-carbon solutions
for 70–130-ton mining trucks worldwide. Per the collaboration plan, XCMG will
supply over 100 zero-emission heavy-duty mobile units to Fortescue's Pilbara
mining operations, accelerating the mine's transition to a fully electrified
transportation and operations system.
At
the launch event, Lu Chuan, President of XCMG Machinery, stated that the
successful rollout of these globally pioneering prototypes marks a significant
new starting point for deepening strategic cooperation between the two parties.
XCMG will continue to strengthen resource coordination across the entire value
chain—including R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, service, and
financial support—to ensure high-quality advancement of collaborative projects,
establishing a new paradigm for China-Australia industrial cooperation in
global green mining development.
Fords
River Co-CEO Ge Si emphasized that the unveiling of these two prototypes not
only marks a significant milestone in the partnership but also demonstrates the
feasibility and maturity of zero-emission mining equipment in practical
applications, providing crucial support for achieving the company's 2030 “True
Zero Emissions” goal.
During
the visit, the Fortescue team conducted an on-site inspection at XCMG's Mining
Machinery Division, focusing on the world's largest electric mining water truck
XDE150ES and other new energy mining equipment custom-developed for the
project. This further deepened technical cooperation and application exchanges
in the field of green mining equipment.
