Recently, ZOOMLION's ZCC4000V crawler crane was successfully delivered to Ethiopia and completed its inaugural lifting operation at the country's landmark “Grand Round Hall” project. As one of the largest tonnage crawler cranes currently available in the Ethiopian market, this equipment successfully tackled multiple construction challenges with its stable, reliable performance and outstanding operational capabilities, earning high recognition from the project team. Concurrently, ZOOMLION's specialized and localized service support system was fully demonstrated throughout the project.
Located in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa, the Grand Round Hall project features a composite structural system combining reinforced concrete frame-shear walls with a metal roof truss system. The construction involves numerous complex components such as curved beams and tubular trusses, constrained by limited site space and stringent schedule milestones. This demands high standards for crane stability, control precision, and safety performance.
During construction, the ZCC4000V crawler crane leveraged its formidable lifting capacity, precise maneuverability, and exceptional overall stability to effortlessly complete the inaugural lift. This achievement laid a solid foundation for subsequent large-component hoisting operations and provided a reliable solution for complex structural construction in the region.
The successful deployment of the equipment was supported by comprehensive service assistance. During critical project phases, Yao Dezhi, ZOOMLION's East Africa Regional Service Manager, oversaw the entire process of equipment assembly, commissioning, and delivery. Despite challenges such as confined workspace and nighttime temperatures below 5°C, he maintained a long-term presence at the site to ensure orderly progress in key stages like equipment debugging and trial operation.
During commissioning, Yao tackled complex system integration and high-precision calibration challenges by working overtime to troubleshoot technical issues. His efforts ensured optimal performance metrics, providing robust assurance for the safe and successful execution of the inaugural lifting operation.
Thanks to the crane's stable operation and the professional support of the service team, the ZCC4000V crawler crane significantly improved on-site hoisting efficiency and shortened the construction cycle for critical processes after being put into use. The project owner specially sent a letter of appreciation to ZOOMLION, fully affirming the equipment quality and service capabilities, and highly commending the sense of responsibility and professional spirit demonstrated by the service personnel.
Simultaneously, throughout the project implementation, the ZOOMLION team collaborated closely with local technicians. Through on-site guidance and technical exchanges, they helped enhance the operational and maintenance capabilities of local engineering personnel, thereby cultivating professional expertise for local construction projects.
The successful deployment of the ZCC4000V crawler crane in Ethiopia not only provided robust support for the Grand Round Hall project but also further demonstrated ZOOMLION's technological prowess in high-end lifting equipment and its global service capabilities. Moving forward, ZOOMLION will continue to deepen its global market footprint, empowering worldwide engineering projects with more reliable products and professional services. This commitment will drive broader cooperation and mutual success for Chinese smart manufacturing on the international stage.
